Eastern Democratic and Free Society, shortened KODAR, has hold its first assembly establishing its formation.
In Qendil Mountains of southern Kurdistan, the newly elected co-chairs of KODAR gace a press conference and officially announced the establishment of KODAR and its compositon. This conference started at 1:15 PM on May 5 and continued till 3 o’clock.
In the congress, Zilan Tanya and Rezan Cawid were elected as co-chairs of KODAR. Mrs. Tanya read the written statement of Eastern Democratic and Free Society (KODAR), and explained the KODAR system and its aims in details.
KODAR constitutionally promotes the Democratic Confederalism of Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan), but suggest this societal project as appropriate for all other parts and nationalities of Iran. This system does not discriminate among religions, beliefs, nationalities or parts of the society. Those who accept the principles of KODAR can operate and work within its framework. KODAR holds a self-defense force and claims against any kind of attack its right of self-defense. Essentially, KODAR demands to solve the Kurdish question with the Islamic Republic of Iran thru dialogue and peaceful ways.
The founder and leader of Democratic Confederalism, Abdullah Ocalan, KODAR regards as the leader of the Kurdish nation. The congress elected 19 persons to its board and its management system, which governs the Leadership Council.
As KODAR has elected the co-chair system in its formaiton, naturally the percentage quota of women and men will be eliminated and in all fields the principles of absolute equality would be the base.
Kurdish and other regional media showed during the press conference on May 5 did extensive media coverage.
Specially almost all of the important southern Kurdistan’s Medias attended this press conference.
