Groups of Kurds planted trees on the 4th of April in correspondence of a large civic movement. In Sine (Sanandaj), a numbers of ‘Mothers of Peace’ planted trees on the occasion of Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday.

According to reports, civilians continued their self-organized activities despite repression and pressures from the Iranian government against the Kurdish nation. On April 4, a number of Kurdish mothers known as Mothers of Peace planted trees and gathered to celebrate Kurdish Leader, Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday.

Based on the same report, despite prohibition from Iranian regime mothers of peace held a gathering in Abidar’s mountain of Sine and planted 65 trees in celebration of Abdullah Öcalans’ 65th birthday.

They congratulated Öcalan’s birthday to Kurdish nation, especially Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan) and named the location where they planted the trees as Purple Garden.

The last few days in all parts of Kurdistan, Europe, Russia, Japan, and other corners of the world Kurds reside and tens of thousands of trees were planted at Öcalan’s birthday as a large environmental and cultural movement to bring friendship between man and nature.
