Workers protest working conditions in Rojhelat

ANF, SINE — Workers in Rojhelat (East Kurdistan) city of Sine (Sanandaj) and in other Iranian cities have gone on to the streets to demand their unpaid wages. On Sunday April 6 Zagros metal workers in the city blocked a major street in anger at bad working conditions. The workers resisted security forces who attempted to break up their demonstration and insisted protests would continue until their demands were met.

On Saturday, April 5, More than 300 Iranian water and sewage company workers staged a mass rally in the city of Ahwaz in protest at not being paid for five months.

On the same day, staff at the industrial group Falat Goharrang staged a march in front of the municipal building in Charmahal Bakhtiary province, in anger at salaries that have not been paid for three months.

Also on April 5, sacked soap factory workers in the south western city of Khoramshahr protested at not having received salaries for two years and demanded their jobs back.
