Support the Kurdish people’s proclamation for democratic self-government in Rojava

Rojava Map

The people’s uprising for freedom democracy and equality in Syria began almost three years ago. So far, the Syrian people’s revolt has taken more than 120,000 lives. The rebellion has been transformed to civil war with many extreme religious groups dominating the war scene.

The Kurdish people in Syria has for a long time been a victim of repression, denial and humiliation. The Kurds has in the current situation chose not to support the Baathist regime but despite that are they still excluded by the opposition in Turkey.

The Kurdish people have had regional powers against them from the start in the struggle for autonomy. The regional power supports Jihadists like Al Qaida and SISI in order to sabotage Kurdish efforts to organize the civil society and protect their areas from extremist groups. Despite this has the Kurds through their determination managed to engage and organize the population of Rojava and by including all ethnic groups in Rojava. They can guarantee the safety for the civilian population from Al Qaida and the SISI.

On October 12, 2013, declared, 86 representatives from all the groups in the area Kurds, Arabs, Syrians, Assyrians and Chechener together with 35 political parties and civil organizations, Rojava as democratic autonomy. This counts as an important historical step for the Kurds and all other ethnic groups in Rojava.

The Kurdish Network for Rojava in Sweden warmly congratulates the democratic self-government in Rojava and wants to show our support of this work. We urge the entire Kurdish people and Europe to support this historic step.
