“PJAK will adhere to its strategy of self-defence”, said Evindar Renas a coordination member of PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan).
In an interview with Firat News Agency, PJAK’s senior member analysed the recent changes in the region and made some statements.
She stated they follow the changes in the Iranian regime’s behaviour where the regime executed two of their members in Urmiye and also the operations of Iranian forces against their Guerrillas; yet they will act within their self-defence rules.
She mentioned that they are trying their best in order to act within their ceasefire agreement; however, they will defend their members once attacked.
Renaz believes that the Iranian regime has changed its manner and has started operations against their guerrillas in the last 4 month and has also started execution of Kurdish political activists.

As we are all aware we made a ceasefire with the Iranian regime after the Qendil war of 2011 following the changes happening in the region. We reached ceasefire in order to let the peace process not become the victim of changes in the region. Thus we have acted very sensitively. Yet, in the last 4 months -since the Rouhani government and even sometime before- the Iranian regime has changed its conducts. They launch operations against our guerrilla forces, torture the political prisoners and even execute them. These actions of Iran would alter the ceasefire agreement, but we still want to act sensitively and carefully.
We believe that the changes in the region have worried Iran deriving it to a critical situation following the economic sanctions. If there was not a ceasefire between us and Iran, then instead of Syria, it was Iran who would have faced the changes. However, our mission is not to confront the Iranian nationalities with the Kurds as it would enfeeble us all.
Yet, Iran has increased its aggressive polices against political prisoners; the executions of Bahoz Sine (Hebibulla Gulperipur) and Reza Mamedi (Ismaili) is showing hatred policy against us.
Iran uses aggressive policies against its people inside its territory while shows more flexibility towards in its international policies. They reconsidered their actions with America and have been more moderate with them. There is problem of Syria. Iran has tried to have a good relation with Turkey. In conjunction with this we all saw that KCK announced a ceasefire with Turkey, yet Iran did not see all these and has not changed its mission towards the Kurds. Tehran tried to finish off the ceasefire and thus wanted to blame us for this; yet, we announce that the Bane operations were not done by our guerrillas.
Consolidation of the Kurdish achievement especially in West of Kurdistan has feared some of the regional powers. Such fears come from the fact that the Kurds have raised once more. The Iranian government can see the strengthening position of the Kurds both inside and outside of Iran. It is also the consciousness of our members that is the only reason for their attacks.
Hanging our members Reza Ismaili and Bahoz Sine is nerve-racking. They struggled heroically which is highly appreciating. The regime had tortured them cruelly with the aim of making them abandon their struggle. In their personality they (Iranian Government) wanted the whole Kurdish nation to abandon their cause. Iran wanted them to regret to commute their sentence, yet they refused to and stood as heroes.
All powers trying to abandon Kurds
Iran with its dogmatic and aggressive ideological positions, has tried to moderate its policies with Israel and the United States. Along this it has increased its aggressive policies against the Kurds. Rouhani policies, especially execution of political prisoners has concerned every one. Recent attitudes of Iran have even stood against its original roots of the past 30 years.
However, the Kurds have not treated other Iranian nations in a wrong way. With regards to the “Arab Spring”, the Kurds have chosen the third way depending exclusively on themselves and their intrinsic power.
The Kurds have relied exclusively on themselves and on their society’s dynamic following the changes occurring in the region. Consciousness of the Kurds has threatened both the international and regional powers. For example the Kurds have not been played with; rather they have become a player. In between them, Iran is also afraid of Kurdish power, thus they want to threaten the Kurds with executions and suppression.
PJAK will act in accordance with its strategy of self defence
In spite of the hostility of the Iranian Regime, PJAK wants to solve the problem through negotiations, yet it will act within its self defence policies once attacked. We follow the Iranian actions carefully. We wanted to transfer the ceasefire into a peace agreement, yet Tehran has refused that. We count this as the weakness of Iran, because if they were strong enough, they would have solved the Kurdish problem through democratic ways.
The international powers are also willing to see a fight between the Kurds and Iran. If Iran does so, it becomes a ball for playing with. Iran has started to suppress the Kurds, Arabs and Baluchs cruelly executing them recklessly; we name these acts as national genocide.
If Iran does not reconsider its actions, it will hurt itself as it becomes a tool for playing with. Iran needs to be aware that we will not abandon self-defence and will continue to our political, diplomatic and self-defence activities and will extend them even further.
