Kurdpur brothers were sentenced to 9.5 years in prison plus exile

MEHABAD, MUKRIAN NEWS AGENCY – After 250 days without hearing, today Mehabad Revolutionary Court convicted Mesud and Xusrew Kurdpur on charge of propagating and collusion against the national security in 9 Oct 2013.

Xusrew Xusrewi one of Kurdpurs lawyers told Mukrian Agency: “Xusrew Kurdpur has been convicted to six years imprisonment with two years exile in city of Kerman in allegation of acting against national security via propaganda and conspiracy also Mesud Kurdpur has been sentenced to three years and a half in custody on the charge of collusion and propagating against government”.

While the Court of first instance has justified Xusrew conviction to exile in Tabriz prison is inconsistent with the principle of individual criminal and punishment in addition damaging the client’s family because of deportation, Osman Muzeyen other lawyer for these political activists said Mukrian Agency.

We will appeal the verdict by the Mehabad Revolutionary Court through submitting the bill within 20-day moratorium, Ebas Cemali and Xelil Behramian pointed as solicitor.

It is worth nothing the Kurdish journalist and human rights activist Xusrew Kurdpur and his brother Mesud Kurdpur teacher with masters degree in political science have been incarcerated for their alleged accusation of “enmity with God, cooperation with opposition parties against the national security, insulting the Supreme Leader and publication of false news” by Mehabad Revolutionary Court in 8 March 2012.
