EAST KURDISTAN, CIWANRO ─ According to reports, Salafi (radical Islamic gangs) are harassing the city’s youth; also they have been pressuring people in this region and have disrupted their lives.
Radical Islamic groups who have extremist interpretations of Islam attack people under protection of Islamic morality charge. The Salafi groups interfere in all aspects of people’s lives including how to get out of the house and listen to music, referring to this report.
Until now, dozens of Kurdish Salafies have joined the terrorist groups called Jabhat al-Nusra, State of Iraq and Levant. These groups were involved in the killing of Kurdish civilians and fighting against YPG (People’s Defense Units).
