– There is an ongoing process in Western Kurdistan to establish democratic self-administrative systems, initiated by the People’s Councils. Communes, neighborhoods and villages are organized by the people. The latest example of this, established today, is the neighborhood of northern Hizam in Qamishlo. Elections were held to establish a commune in the neighborhood in question, with the participation of dozens of people from the neighborhood.

Kurdish woman and her brother killed in Hasaka
Kurdish citizens Leila Abdul Hadi and her brother Tayser was killed in the city of Hasaka by a group of unidentified men who broke into their house at night and killed them by stabbing them with knives. Laila is originally from the city of Qamishli but was married in Hasaka and lived there.

People in Kobani continue day and night to protect their city
In the city of Kobani – following the trend of other Kurdish cities – popular protection committees have been established to protect entrances to the city, to guard areas, sites and property within the city, to protect the people and to prevent and counter attacks by hostile forces. This culture of self-organizing has spread significantly among the Kurdish people in the western regions of Kurdistan and in Kobane after the liberation from the Baathist regime. The kurdish people have took it upon themselves to protect the Kurdish regions, in a statement from the Kurds in Kobani they said;”we are ready and fully prepared for any emergency that could strike our town and our units are here to uphold security and defend ourselves from any harm or attacks by any party, be it the regime or other armed groups, we promise our people that we will confront the aggressors who intervene and try to bring destruction and devastation to our region and to the Kurdish people of Kobane. ”
Delegation from the High Kurdish Authority visited city of Sere Kaniye and the formation of a committee to estimate losses
A delegation from the Kurdish High Supreme included both “Eldar Khalil, Ahmed Suleiman, Elham Ahmed, Abdul Salam Ahmed” and other participants from civil society as well as members of organizations visited Sere Kaniye last Saturday in order to assess the places that were bombed. A committee was formed to salvage the losses, to monitor the situation and to compensate the families which had their homes destroyed by the bombings. At the request of the People’s Council in Sere Kaniye, the delegation called on the Kurdish people to organize a demonstration under the slogan “a demonstration for return” in Serekaniye on monday.

Diplomatic relations committee of the Supreme Kurdish meet with all communities in Western Kurdistan
The diplomatic relations committee, a body of the Kurdish Supreme met with different groups in Western Kurdistan to discuss the developments and events taking place in the region. The Commission held a series of meetings in the office of the Kurdish Supreme in Qamishlo with representatives of the Assyrian Democratic Organization and the National Syrian Bloc as well as with other parties and representatives of Christian churches
During these meetings questions of development was discussed and recent events in the region were adressed such as the entry of armed groups across the Turkish border to the city of Canet. When such groups enter Western Kurdistan across the Turkish border they draw the bombardment and artillery of the regime which results in the deaths of civilians; Kurds, Arabs and Christians who end up in the crossfire.
During these meetings security was discussed, in particular ways of protection areas and cities of western Kurdistan by all segments of society, the necessity of not allowing foreign armed elements to enter Western Kurdistan and the need for a collective opposition to any external forces as well as ways to promote civil peace. Participants also discussed the formations of joint bodies and councils among all ethnic groups to manage their areas and cities themselves according to a consensual democratic system that meets the needs of all shades of western Kurdistan. A meeting was also held with forces, parties and representatives of Christian churches in the city of Qamishli and the Syriac Catholic Church in Qamishli. Meetings were also held with Representatives of Chaldean, Armenian and Assyrian churches, forces and parties.
The meeting focused on the latest situation in the West Kurdistan in general and the city of Sere Kaniye in particular. The establishment of a joint administration was proposed in order to protect the cities where currently a security vacuum is in effect, one of the proposals was to call for a conference/consultative meeting of representatives of all groups in the city of Qamishli and the general area of Western Kurdistan.
The participants unanimously expressed their refusal to join the armed groups of the so-called Free Syrian army which is currently responsible for the atrocities taking place in Sere Kaniye. The citizens of Sere Kaniye is caught between the conflict between the FSA and the regime and dozens of civilians have been killed, many more have been wounded.
The meeting ended with the proposal to hold a consultative meeting between all the groups of the region in the coming days, and as soon as possible.
Meeting between PYD and ENKS parties to discuss recent events in Western Kurdistan
A series of meetings and events organized by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) have been held in Qamishlo with Kurdish political parties and social groups in order to discuss developments and the recent events taking place in western Kurdistan and the city of Sere Kaniye. In order to reach a collective policy among all parties to protect western Kurdistan and to promote a system of governance by the people, for the people. The Democratic Union Party met with other Kurdish parties that are under the umbrella of the Kurdish national Council. The meeting focused on the need to unite the Kurdish position, it was stressed that the events taking place in Sere Kaniye, the destruction of the city, displacement of people, children losing their parents demanded that everyone abandon partisan interests and instead work in the service of the general interest of the Kurdish people. This is important seeing as the Turkish government is interfering in western Kurdistan creating division. The differences between Kurdish parties and possible solutions to bringing them closer was also discussed.

Kobani -Tens of thousands chanted for the YPG
There is a wide and general support for the Peoples protection Units (YPG) as the only legitimate force for the protection of Kurdish areas. Solidarity with the YPG was expressed thru demonstrations were tens of thousands of people in Kobani greeted the YPG under the slogan “Solidarity with YPG” Crowds gathered around Azadi square and began the demonstration with a minute of silence for the souls of those who lost their lives for the freedom of the Kurdish people, the masses then raised flags and symbols of the YPG and expressed their preparedness to resist and defend western Kurdistan . The people then denounced the brutal massacre suffered by the Kurdish people in the city of Sere Kaniye.
Tirbespiye supporting Serekaniye and reject foreign armed groups in the regions
In the city of Tirbespiye people demonstrated against the armed groups in Kurdish areas. So far thousands have stood victim to armed groups in Afrin, Ashrafieh and recently in Sere Kaniye. They demonstrated under the slogan “No strangers in our regions”.

Qamishlo calls no for armed strangers
In the city of Qamishlo people demonstrated to oppose and refuse the entry of armed strangers to Kurdish areas. Recently these armed groups caused destruction to the region and the migration of thousands of displaced Syrian children that had seeked refuge in Sere Kaniye.
