Wan mayor joined indefinite hunger strike

WAN, — Indefinite hunger strike launched by the PKK and PAJK prisoners entered its 36th day. Wan mayor Bekir Kaya, report said, joined the strike from his prison ward.

The prisoners of PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) and PAJK (Kurdistan’s Free Woman Party) launched an indefinite hunger strike which is in its 36th day now.

The strikers demand comes as follow:

1- Education in mother tongue in defence trials,

2- Respect to Kurdish people’s democratic rights,

3- Freedom for leader of the Kurdish People, Mr. Abdullah Ocalan.

According to the latest correspondence, Bekir Kaya, Wan mayor, joined the hunger strike today. Other than him the former head of BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) in Wan, is also in his 7th day of hunger strike.
