3 Kurds lost their lives in mine explosion

SEQIZ, — Three Kurds resident of Seqiz city lost their lives in mine explosion occurred on the border region between Meriwan and Pencwen areas, local sources reported.

Husen Keremi from the village of Seltekeltu, Xalid Qasimi from the village of Qewer Qela, both in Seqiz municipality, with another unidentified Kurd lost their lives on the border.

A source close to the families of the victims said that they had intended to travel to South Kurdistan with the aim of working to making the living.

Hundreds of Kurdish youth are driven by the widespread unemployment to work on the pseudo-borders of Kurdistan to make the living for their families through carrying goods often on their back across the borders.

Dozens of these workers are either subject to direct shooting of the Iranian Border Guards, or mine explosions or the harsh climate and the troublesome character of ferrying on the borders.

The mines implanted on the borders are another enemy of the Kurdish workers. Most of those mines had been implanted by the Iranian regime during the Iran and Iran war.

Despite the devastating effects of the mines on the lives of the local people no efforts have been made on the side of the Iranian regime to clear the areas of the mines.
