Iraq condemns Oglu’s visit

BAGHDAD, — Iraqi foreign ministry condemned Dawood Oglu Turkish foreign minister visit to South Kurdistan. “Oglu’s visit was illegal because the means of diplomatic communication was not applied, “he said.

He added they did not know anything about Turkish foreign minister visit to Iraq (South Kurdistan) until it was known that Oglu was in Hewler.

Baghdad was more angered by Oglu’s visit to the strategic city of Kerkuk; it was also led to media reactions.

Oglu was invited by Messud Barzani and they discussed West Kurdistan situation.

Baghdad accuses Turkey of intervening in Iraq’s internal issues and blamed Hewler for not complying with country’s constitution.

In its part Hewler said Oglu’s visa was granted by Iraq’s embassy in Turkey.

Tensions between the two countries are high.
