QAZVIN, Iran, — The Kurdish political prisoner Remezan Ehmed, from West of Kurdistan (north-Syria), spends his 26th day of hunger strike.
According to the International Human Right Campaign in Iran, Kurdish political prisoner, Remezan Ehmed has been on hunger strike since 8th July 2012 launched to protest against his uncompleted surgery.
From West of Kurdistan, Mr. Ehmed was taken to hospital with large injuries in his hands and back. His hand has gone under an operation; however, he still suffers from back injuries caused by remaining chunks of mines in his body.
Mr Remezan Ehmed was arrested on 2009 in the city of Mako in East of Kurdistan. Charged on the allegation of working with Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and exiled to Qazvin, where he is currently spending his prison term.
