Kurdocide: Iran arbitrarily sentenced Luqman and Zanyar to death

logo_chakNEWSDESK, — The East Kurdistan Committee of Kurdocide (Organisation of Anti-Genocide of Kurds) announced in a statement that the death sentence given to the Kurdish political prisoners Luqman and Zanyar Muradi lack any legal ground.

Kurdocide regards the verdict as a sheer pretext to execute the two brothers who under intensive tortures were forced to make confession to crimes they had never committed.

“The charge of disturbing the country’s security and the violation of the republic’s laws, is a phenomena pursued by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Kurdish people in East of Kurdistan for the last 33 years, the extreme punishments of our youths in the closed and secret courts and the groundless death sentences imposed them has become a routine for the Iranian government,” Kurdocide stated.

“Such an act of Iranian government,” the statement added, “which violates the very basic foundations of human rights is not to be accepted.”

The East Kurdistan Committee of Kurdocide remarked that the Iranian prosecutors have not provided any legal grounds for the substantiation of the charges, “Luqman and Zanyar are innocently moving toward the gallows,” the statement ended.
