KNK statement on 15 February Conspiracy

KNKBRUSSELS, Belgium, — In a written statement Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) strongly denounces the international conspiracy of 15 February of 1999 against the Kurdish people.

On 15 February 1999 Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan was abducted by a group of Israeli, American and Turkish agents in Kenya and handed over to Turkey.

KNK does strongly denounce the abduction of Ocalan and also praises the national struggle of the Kurdish people for freedom and liberty.

“In 14th anniversary of the international conspiracy of 15 February,” says the KNK statement, “the Kurdish issue has reached a historic point. With the help of the international powers, the occupying powers of Kurdistan impose strict isolation on Ocalan, ethnocide the Kurdish people, continuously carry out military and political operations and seek to annihilate the Kurds.”

“The adversaries of the Kurds”, continues the KNK statement, “Not only in one part of Kurdistan but in all parts of the country don’t want the Kurds to have any status. This is because if the Kurds gain a status in one part of Kurdistan, the occupiers can’t plunder Kurdish lands.”

Kurdistan National Congress also expressed surprise at the silence of the international public opinion in relation to the oppression of the Kurdish people.

“At 14th anniversary of the international conspiracy of 15 February the Kurdish people should intensify their campaign for freedom,” ended the KNK statement.
