NEWSDESK, — In a heading titled as “Intelligence came from UAV the fire order came from Ankara”, the Turkish Milliyet Daily claimed that the Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV-Heron) footages were watched “minute by minute” by six bases and that the order to open fire on villagers killing 35 of them came from government in Ankara.
An official in Şirnak said: “The UAV footages were being watched in Ankara, Malatya, Diyarbakir, Şirnak, Van and Şenoba Brigade Commanderships in Uludere (Roboski) second by second. The air bombardment started following the orders from Ankara. Şenoba Brigade Commandership stopped artillery shooting according to the orders from Ankara and warplanes took off. The smugglers were bombarded around 19.30-20.00 at point zero. UAV continued to fly over the area and 45 minutes later the warplanes bombarded a second time.”
Selahedin Demirtash the Co-chair of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) had asked the Turkish Premier last week as to whether he gave the order to fire.
The Premier answered with insults but also said: “We authorize security forces in a general framework. They consult us on certain subjects if necessary.”
