KARAJ, Iran, — Death sentences given to Kurdish political prisoners Luqman and Zanyar Muradi were confirmed by the appeal court.
According to Federation of Political Prisoners, Luqman and Zanyar had appealed for revision of their death sentences. But the Court rejected their appeal and passed the verdict to the executive board.
Luqman and Zanyar were informed of the appeal’s rejection few days ago by the prison official of Rejaeshar prison, where they are currently held incommunicado.
Luqman and Zanyar were arrested on 17th October 2009 in Meriwan city. After nine months of extensive tortures and mistreatments they were charged with Moharabe (enmity with God) and sentenced to death on 22nd December 2010.
