NEWSDESK, — The Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) and its armed wing East Kurdistan Defence Forces (HRK) have become the subject of discussion for the Iranian and international media.
After the second wave of Iranian offensives on the Defence Regions of Medya controlled by the Kurdish guerrillas, and the ceasefire declared by PJAK following the Iranian call, the Iranian media and the militaries embarked on a course of extensive propaganda against PJAK. The international media also followed the events and sought to evaluate them.
The Persian section of Radio Israel also tried to evaluate the Iranian generals’ propaganda during one of its programmes.
The programme started by pointing to a quote from the Iranian generals who have claimed that they had killed over 180 Kurdish guerrillas of PJAK.
It was asked in the programme that if such a claim is right would still PJAK be a ‘small group’ as Iran has claimed.
Iran has always claimed that PJAK is a ‘small group’ with no social base among the Kurdish people of East Kurdistan.
By pointing to the contradictory claims and allegations of the Iranian generals the presenter of the programme asked if Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) could kill 180 members of PJAK within two months, how PJAK could be a ‘small group’.
The presenter also stated that the Iranian generals confirming the presence of PJAK in the extensive and broad areas. The Iranian generals confirm – the presenter added – the guerrillas of PJAK are present in Selmas, Mako, Chaldiran, Urmiye, Shino, Dalanper, and Serdesht, the area with 200 kilometres lengths and 40 kilometres width. But still the Iranian generals refer to PJAK as a ‘small group’.
“If PJAK is active in the most cities of East Kurdistan and occupying the areas of 200 km length and 40 km width, if its members are well-trained and equipped with modern weaponries, and the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps could kill 180 guerrillas in a two month battle, it is well evident that PJAK is not a ‘small group’ but an active and effective organisation,” the presenter concluded.
