Iran: one executed in public

idamIRAN, — One person convicted of Mohareb, ‘enmity with God’, was executed in Musa Abad in the central province of Iran.

According to HRANA, the chief judiciary of central province, Hekmet Ali Mozeferi, notified the execution of one in Musa Abad who was convicted of Mohareb, ‘enmity with God’.

According to the judiciary’s report, the man was convicted of Mohareb involving armed robbery, armed clash with the Iranian security forces as well as carrying arm.

It should be pointed out the Amnesty International released a statement on Thursday strongly denouncing the act of execution in the public which has become a commonplace in Iran.

Including this case, 186 people have been executed in Iran in 2011.
