The situation of three political prisoners Saeed Shirzad, Hassan Rastegar and Kamal Hassan Ramazan on a hunger strike in various prisons in Iran
All three political prisoners are on hunger strike in the prisons of Karaj, Ûrmiye Central Prison and Detention Center Ûrmiye. KHRN reported the situation of Hassan Rastegar is critical.
According to Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), on Monday 2nd January, that after much pressure from the political prisoners of Ûrmiye Central Prison, they reached an agreement to meet Hassan Rastegar for a few minutes in a solitary confinement. Prison authorities ordered that tea, sugar and clean water to be cut off from the political prisoners on hunger strike and the prisoners were forced to drink from the toilet water.
Hassan Rastegar, is political prisoner and held in Central Prison of Ûrmiye, he started his hunger strike on 13th of December 2016 to protest his new sentence which is 15 years in prison.
The health condition of Kamal Hassan Ramazan in the prison of Ûrmiye is unknown, and according to other prisoners at the time of the his transfer to another prison, he was in the ninth day of his hunger strike. He declared hunger strike twice within 2 weeks.
Political prisoner Saeed Shirzad is on the 28th day of hunger strike and his blood pressure have felt, his condition is critical and has lost 8kg of his body weight. Also his stomach and kidney pain are increasing day by day, despite him being on a hunger strike because of other political prisoners that are injured and yet there has been no response from the court and prison authorities.
Saeed Shirzad on Wednesday the 17th of December to protest the silence of prison authorities to the slowly death of sick prisoners, sewed his lips and declared hunger strike.
