Kemal Şêx Sade - Westa Sedîq Salyawayî

Two Kurdish patriots from town of Penjwin (Pênciwên) in Sulaymaniyah (Silêmanî) Governorate of Southern Kurdistan – by the names Westa Sedîq Salyawayî and Kemal Şêx Sade were abducted by unknown suspects at afternoon of 13th April 2016. After a short while dead body of Westa Sedîq Salyawayî was found close to Nizare village, being shot eight times with weapon.

After 19 hours from the incident, dead body of Kemal Şêx Sade was found in Goxlan bridge and later sent to coroner of Silêmanî for examination.

It was revealed in the investigations that Kemal Şêx Sade was also shot by bullets. Kardo, son of Kemal Şêx Sade reported yesterday evening that 13 bullets were found in body of his father and he was tortured before his death.

Subsequent to report of Kemal and Westa Sedîq’s abduction, PJAK responded furiously and called for cooperation from PUK authorities in Pênciwên.

Council of PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan) stated in a report: “It is necessary that leadership of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan urgently investigate the event in detail. We also do our best in our investigations until perpetrators are found.”

Furthermore, Fuad Berîtan, member of KODAR (Democratic and Free Community of Rojhelat) expressed his condolences to Westa Sedîq and Kemal Şêx Sade’s family and stated: We believe that the assassinations were planned as Iranian regime’s forces continually attempted to murder the patriotic Kurdish figures. We have started our investigations and will soon publicate the results.

Zana Rehman, Deputy of Pênciwên stated that police have started their investigations on assassinations of two Kurdish citizens, whilst the documents and evidences were sent to authorities in Silêmanî.

Kemal Şêx Sade a Kurdish activist for many years, serving both Eastern and Southern Kurdistan throughout his life. He was imprisoned by Iraq’s Ba’ath regime due to his patriotism and was sentenced to execution. However later in 1991 he was released in a prisoner exchange with Southern Kurdistan. In 2007 Kemal Şêx Sade contacted Kurdistan Democratic Solution Party (PÇDK) for the first time.

Kemal Şêx Sade was enlisted as candidate for Kurdistan Democratic Solution Party in Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) parliament. Iranian regime’s forces fired at him last year and threatened him to death and even abduction.
