Turkish soldiers mark walls of Farqîn (Silvan) with words of hatred and threats

June 7th 2015: a general election took place and an entire world witnessed HDP (Peoples Democratic Party) passing the 10 % threshold that was necessary in order to gain new seats in the parliament. Kurds demanded democracy and right to live freely. HDP was the answer.

Re-election: The government played a political veto card and demanded a re-election. Recep Tayıp Erdoğan and his AKP party needed 400 seats in the parliament to continue single handedly rule in Turkey. During these five months of preparations and campaigning on behalf of AKP, a continues state of terror and massacres took place in every corner around Turkey, with Kurds and pro-Kurdish parties being the major targets.

“We will not allow a Kurdish autonomy in northern Syria.” ─ Recep Tayip Erdoğan

20 of July 2015, a large number of people from diverse parties including the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP), Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) and other university students had gathered in Amara Culture Center in Suruc to take a trip to Kobanê with the purpose of reconstructing schools and hospitals. Though this was not the first bomb attack, and such attack had occurred during the first election period in Diyarbekir with a number of casualties, this one massacre in Suruc killing 33 people marked the beginning of many more massacres in Turkey.

The bombing in the capital of Turkey, Ankara killing over 100 people led to a wave of anger and devastation towards the government. The terror attacks and massacres that were normally only occurring in Kurdish cities and Kurdish populated areas had taking turning point and spread around entire Turkey. Turkey was inevitably divided and the government had taken a step backwards in history, where oppressions, massacres and brutalities one again reigned.

Parallel fights with PKK:

During 2013 a peace treaty and seize-fire was led in by the Kurdish leader Abduallah Öcalan. The two year treaty was broken when Turkey bombarded the Qandil mountain, while claiming to fight against ISIS in Syria. Meanwhile in Kurdish cities such as Nisêbîn and Cizre, curfews had taken place. The police force with its armed tanks had closed in the cities, and with electricity and food supply being cut out, no one was able to get the necessary help needed. Dead bodies being held in fridges, people being shot at in the front of their homes was a message from the government telling Kurds to “silent their voice”.

November 2nd 2015, the morning after the forced re-election in Turkey, every citizen woke up to yet another broken constitution, a failed government and a dictators continues oppression. The curfews in Kurdish cities continues and have reached Amed’s (Diyarbekir) district Farqîn (Silvan). The 13 day curfew consisted of attacks on civilians by the military force, dead bodies being dragged behind tanks and threats of massacres being shouted out by the police from megaphones in mosques and armed police vehicles. When the co-chairmen of HDP Figen Yuksekdag along with a group of HDP deputies were in place of the main three targeted areas in Farqîn district with the people to protest the blockades, they were attacked with teargas and water cannons.

In the picture one can see walls in streets of Farqîn having words of hatred and threats written by soldiers.

Blood has stained the teeth of wolves, be afraid
Turkish Soldier is writing: “Blood has stained the teeth of wolves, be afraid”

If you are a Turk, brag and be proud. If you are not, obey.

This ongoing military operation towards the civilians in Farqîn has been with no mercy nor limits. Houses have been targeted with bombs, civilians killed and a means of using fear has been another form of weapon used against the people.
