More than 124 lawyer and law expertise in a signed statement condemning the violence and destruction by the Turkish government against Kurdish people.
Lawyers said “The international community is obliged to act on their responsibilities to the innocent Kurdish civilians, today Kurdish people are under attack by Turkish government and international community shouldn’t remaining silence and forgetting this inhuman acts.”
Iranian lawyers insisted thatTurkish government should meet the Kurdish legitimate demands and act by all means and international conventions. The statement continued:
Turkish government deceive the international community. Unfortunately we can see that Turkish government deceiving global community under the name of so called war against “terrorism”, and instead of attacking ISIS they make military operations and attacking their opponents in and out of country. The scope and extend of the violence is so vast that besieged civilian population in Kurdish region.
Human rights and behaviour
According to the provisions of international humanitarian laws, all government are obliged to avid violence and targeting civilians, Turkey is one of those countries that is a member of the Geneva conventions 1949 and have to obey of articles 3 of those convention, article 3 has developed certain behavioural framework that guarantees the monitoring of human behaviour in civil wars.
The Turkish government signed the European convention on human rights which is guaranteed civil and political rights of people and committed to respecting all of this rights that is the provisions of the international treaties and prevent the Turkeys government from threatening of people’s life, integrity and reputation off individuals.
Call for the global community
We as a lawyers and law expertise of Iran demanding Turkish government to complying with all of international human rights law against there Kurdish citizens, also we call international community to urging the Turkish government to fulfill it’s obligations. According to the doctrine of ” responsibility to protect ” in resolutions 1674 of UN Security Council, the exercise of sovereignty by state is both the right and responsibility. If any government does not fulfill their responsibilities and obligations to there citizens and not providing the security to them, the international community are obliged to act on their responsibilities about innocent civilians. ” Today the security of Kurdish people in Turkey remains under attack by Turkish government and international community shouldn’t remains silent about this inhuman acts.
