YRK–HPJ guerrillas convoys sent to the front lines of the battle against ISIS terrorist groups.
Rêzan Cawîd co-chair of Free and Democratic Society of Eastern Kurdistan (KODAR) in a special ceremony that was held for dispatching East Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) and Women Defense Forces (HPJ) to the battlefront against ISIS, said:
Today our comrades heroically can protect our nation and their achievement in the fronts of resistance and war. Also our duty as an insurgent movement in Rojhelat (East Kurdistan) is protecting achievements of Kurdistan and eliminating attacks of occupiers in general and specifically neutralizing attacks on our nation in Rojhelat. Our comrades protected Rojava (West Kurdistan) meanwhile liberated Başûr (South Kurdistan), Shengal (Sinjar) and Maxmur from occupiers and terrorist forces. Now also Xaneqin (Khanaqin) region that our Kelhor, Kakeyi, Feyli and Germiyanis live there, is under threat. It is our right and duty to protect our nation in Germiyan (Beth Garmai). Comrades who go to the battlefront must know it is a holy duty on their shoulders, today is the day of protecting dignity and honor of Kurdish nation, and it is the day of national unity. We must keep our oneness with our comrades in all sectors of struggle, we must unite our forces to protect achievements of all parts of Kurdistan.
Right of self-defense with passive protection is not possible. Leader APO says: “this terrorist forces who uses the name of Islam have no connection with Islam, those who helping them must be eliminated from Kurdistan. Kurdistan is not the land of extremist groups like ISIS, instead it is the land of peace, resistance and freedom. We must provide peace and freedom in Kurdistan. This is our slogan “if the whole world attack us we will defend ourselves, and if we have the whole world’s power we do not attack anyone”. Now that these forces are attacking us, we use all of our forces for right of self-defense to protecting the achievements of Kurdistan”.
Our brave comrades must work together with our Peshmerga brothers in trenches. There is a word of unity of Guerrilla and Peshmerga in South Kurdistan, this unity must become stronger. There are some differences in the movements but we must struggle for unity of Kurdish nation in four parts of Kurdistan.
We wish our comrades victory on this basis and keep the values of our martyrs. The flag of resistance and heroism must be raised in everywhere and whatever duty comes on our shoulders are feeling responsible towards our martyrs and nation which we believe our comrades are able to do that. We believe that your presence in South Kurdistan and battlefront will be a great morale and courage for our nation and Peshmerga. Based on this we are saying until one Kurdish Guerrilla exists, Kurdistan will never be occupied by terrorists and occupiers and our martyrs’ blood will not go in vain.
