Suspicious activities of Salafi groups in Rojhelat

Over the past few years has increased activity by extremist Salafist groups in various cities in Rojhelat (East Kurdistan) but the extremist group are active in Rojhelat clearly following the invasion of Iraq and its Sunni areas.

In the Kurdish cities Kamyaran, Kirmanshan and Bane, Salafis attempt to recruit and advertise their own ideas while activists are concerned for the families and children caught in the trap of Extremist Group.

According to research from the reporter of Firat News Agency (ANF) in 15 August was revealed that over a month ago before the start of Ramadan, Salafist elements have beheaded three Iranian police and their bodies were cast into a large water tank in city of Salas Bawecani (Kirmashan functions).

 

Recruitment in Kirmanshan (Kermanshah)

Reporter of ANF added that the Salafi groups are working to establish a recruiting centre in Mahmud Abad mosque of Kirmashan. They are recruiting for tricks such as weaknesses of community particularly poverty and unemployment. “Providing a context for single individuals, accommodation and job for married people, offering job opportunities, salaries and preparing the house for them are offered to the public by the Salafies. They have allocated 250 to 300 million iranian rials ($10000) to their recruitment project’s.

15 August a rural from Sirincian (Sine Functions) who request anonymity quoted ANF: “we’ve seen three black- clad gunmen in the outskirts of the village who had opened fire on the car when they saw we did not stop”.

 

Arrest the Salafi agents in Sine (Sanandaj)

An informed source told ANF that 14 August, 22 people who allegedly are the Salafu members have been arrested in Sanandaj. While in recent days media for Rojhelat reported a group of extremist Salafies marched through the street of Farah in Sine.

A few weeks ago, Salafis killed a driver because of playing music in his car also a soldier killed by the group.

 

Enlistment in Bane (Baneh)

According to the reports, recently Salafies have increased their activities in Bane in Sine province. They have installed their flags to attract the Kurdish youth in the city.

 

Until now, dozens of Kurdish Salafies have joined the terrorist groups called Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS. These groups were involved in the killing of Kurdish civilians and fighting against Ezidi Kurds in Shengal (Sinjar), YPG (People’s Defense Units) and YPJ (Women’s Defense Units)  in the Rojava Cantons.

The majority of Salafies are from Qatar, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. 22.9% of all Saudis, 46.87% of Qataris, 44.8% of Emiratis, 5.7% of Bahrainis, and 2.17% of Kuwaitis are Salafies.
