Threating prisoners and seizing their belongings in Urmiye prison

Prison guards of the central prison in Urmiye, are attempting to section 12 of the prisoners, while inspecting all the personal belongings of the prisoner.

According to reports from Human Rights Activists from Iran, special prison guards that were 40, after inspecting all the prisoners, sent them all outside the rooms and then started exploring all the belongings of the prisoners. They have checked newspapers, prisoners’, notes, books and all other prisoners’ stuff. They have then transferred 3 prisoners by the names of Yusif Kakememi, Osman Mostefapur and Mensur Arwend to solitary confinement; yet, they have to transfer them back to the public ward following the protest of the prisoners.

In conjunction to this, Seyed Sami Huseyni, the political prisoner sentenced to death execution, was summoned with excuse of meeting his lawyer but he was intimidated.

According to a report from Firat News Agency, the prison officers have seized all notes and diaries of political prisoners and have threatened them that they will use them for making new cases against them. This has been seen as conspiracy and has worried the political prisoners.

It is worth mentioning that all books were licensed and published in Iran and the inmates personal items were family photos; yet, all were seized.

According to the same source there are 15 political prisoners in which are kept in the criminal ward of the Central Prison of Urmiye and their situation is deteriorated. Their names are as follows:

Alireza Resuli, Faroq Samani, Xizr Resul Mrwet, Muhammad Shirko Hassanpour, Aresh Cihangiri, Nuredin Felah, Sabir Mexlid mawane, Unus Aqayan, Qadir Muhamadzade, Ferhad Aryayi, Ehmed Qorbani, Hassan Zarei, Firoz Zarei.
