Further restriction on access to the Internet in Meriwan

Recently, the Iranian regime prevents users from using the Internet by blocking internet access in Rojhelat (East Kurdistan). With different methods the Iranian regime tries to prevent mass awareness and inform the public, particularly with overseas in order to achieve its political goals.

According to local resources in Meriwan reported Firat News Agency, In the past few weeks, Internet users in Meriwan and other sides of Rojhelat have encountered many problems in the use of this service so that cannot easily gain access to web pages. It was also reported that even with the filter breaker will not open web pages, also any site that is inconsistent with the provisions of the Islamic Republic is not visible.

Most of these web sites, including news sites, social networks and official websites of opposition parties in Iran. This site is blocked by the government so that citizens will not be able to access the media outside Iran.

It is also reported that internet lines in Iran is controlled by intelligence agents and Ettelaat forces are control in any way someone who associated with political and civil activists outside Iran. After identifying the exact location of a person using a specific technical tool, they are attempting to arrest citizens.

It should be noted that Consortium of Toseey-e Etemad-e Mobin which is affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards acquired 51% stake in the Iran’s Telecommunication Company on 27 September 2009. From that time this company has been under the control of Sepah (Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution) formally.

Meriwanian activist has not been charged yet by the regime’s intelligence

It does not limit the pressure and threats by the Iranian regime against activists and their families. According to report from Firat News Agency, a month before the Kurdish civil activist Dana Lencawayi (Lenjabadi) from Meriwan has been arrested and Sine (Sanandaj) Ettelaat has not determined the cause of his arrest yet. Also prison officials have refused to meet with his family.

They were able to contact their children via prison phone of Sine in 13 February. Furthermore Meriwan Intelligence has stated “He will be detained for up to two months in Ettelaat Office”.

Based on Iranian Law “Issuance of an arrest takes place only when the accused person is formally charged” but the intelligence agents had arrested him without charge that is illegal. Meanwhile, the regime did not comply with any law about Kurds and any action against Kurdish people in Rojhelat is unlawful.

 

No news about the condition of a Kurdish political activist after 20 years in detention

Rashid Feizi the Kurd activist from Miyane (Meriwan functions) has been arrested 20 years ago by the security forces of Meriwan, no news on his fate until now.

Despite repeated attempts from his family to Ettelaat Office, this Kurdish political activist who has three children it is unknown yet whether he is alive or in jail. Intelligence has said Feizi family’s “they are unaware of his fate”.

According to Iranian National Newsletter for defence of political and civil prisoners, since Islamic Regime took power from 1979, there are no credible reports of a large number of civil and political activists who were opposed to the Islamic Regime of Iran.
