Continuous activities by counter-guerrilla groups in attempt to deceive civilians
Mercenary forces and groups which are part of Irans security and intelligence services continue their attempt to defame the freedom movement of Kurds. A branch of Iranian security forces harass people in Meriwan (Marivan) under the name of the PJAK.
According to Firat News Agency, it’s been a while that someone by the name of Weli Se’di Eynareyhan also known as Weli Kiwer from Cejni-Ava village located in Xaw and Mirava, an area of the Meriwan district roams around. He pretends to be from the PJAK while harassing defenseless civilian people.
It’s worth mentioning that he is linked to the Iranian security forces as well as the ministry of intelligence and people are well aware of that. Furthermore ‘Eynareyhan’ deceived several girls so far, took them to the South of Kurdistan and returned them to the East of Kurdistan.
It’s also noteworthy that in recent years, mercenary groups linked to the Iranian intelligence agency attempted to spoil the reputation of PJAK guerrillas by wearing uniforms similar to the PJAK forces to harass and terrorize civilians in different parts of Rojhelat (eastern Kurdistan), especially around the mountainous regions of Shaho and Hewraman.
Building Basij bases in villages of the Meriwan County
The Iranian regime is keen to continue its assimilation and integration strategy in Iran and Kurdistan to disolve non-Persian minorities in its system. The Iranian regime built the Basij bases in Qolqole and Xaw around the Meriwan County. They also have evacuated several villages close to the border to create a military buffer zone.
It’s suspected that a person by the name of Refiq Danesh, a member of the Qolqole village became the manager of the base. Furthermore it is reported that children of several families registered at Basij’s base, such as families with A.D. and W.D. initials.
The Iranian regime is attempting to systematically absorb Kurdish youth towards itself to gain political control over the youth as well as Rojhelat (the Eastern Kurdistan region).
Creating a buffer zone in Meriwan’s border
During Iran-Iraq’s war, village inhabitants close to the border of two countries were the ones who suffered the most. The Iranian regime confiscated farms and estates of hundreds of families with excuse of creating border buffer zones and forced them to leave their homes.
Firat News reporter adds that people of those villages sought refuge in close-by villages and cities and they also became homeless. The Iranian regime created special cards for those families so that they’re able to work as back-carriers, however they refused to give such cards to members of the village who had no property on their own, therefore those families are now homeless, due to that, the Iranian regime is attempting to take back those cards from villagers.
Issuing border crossing cards
The government, in attempt to increase its power on ruling and control on borders of the Meriwan County, issued a border crossing card for inhabitants of villages close to border. No one is able to even work on their farms or estates without having this card. Even though the regime hasn’t officially stated it but they created a military buffer zone in border to apply their policies in the region.
