Iranian regime has blocked social networking for criminal purposes

The Iranian regime has always been afraid from leak of information to abroad. This can be seen when the Iran is faced with internal discontent. Social networking is a crucial role in organizing revolutions around the World.

Iran is among the countries that have adopted restrictions on social networking sites such as Yahoo and Facebook in past few years. Leaked the news about the grave human rights by the Iranian government has had some alarming reactions from the international community which has resulted in the issuance of several resolutions by the UN human rights bodies.

In an interview with Fars News Agency organ of the Revolutionary Guards Corps; Abdolsamad Khoramabadi head of the regimes filtering committee said, the filtering of five internet sites has been implemented, these sites are Tango, Viber, WhatsApp and Coco.

He added that “We Chat” was filtered because of its criminal content and other similar foreign software will be filtered as well.

The head of the regimes filtering committee added that the reason for filtering these sites is the danger they pose to the Iranian public.

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a fatwa published on his official website, “is not permitted chatting the non-intimate boys and girls.” Al-Arabiya News quoted.
