Two villages were forced to evacuation from Maku area by the IRG in Rojhelat

Maku

ANF, MAKU – The Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRG) Forces, regardless of domestic and international laws, have forced the residents of two villages in Maku city in Urmiye and set them under pressure to evacuate their villages.

According to the media reports, the IRG Forces have put pressure on the residents of Yexlexan and Mela Hesen villages by cutting their electric power and water to evacuate their villages.

The members of the IRG Forces stationed around those villages. The heads of the families have been summoned to the security agencies and announced: they must evacuate their villages as a consequence of their cooperation with Kurdish political parties against the Iranian regime.

The reports added that each family in the villages was fined by the IRG Forces as a compensation for the members of the IRG, who were killed in clashes in the region.

Several families have been forced to leave their villages against their will.

According to the international law, evacuation of villages by force is a punitive incident. However, the Islamic Republic of Iran ignores the Geneva Convention, and has over the last thirty years forced tens of villages to evacuate in East Kurdistan in an organized manner .

According to this convention, the evacuation is accepted only temporarily and if the village will be at risk of direct conflict. Otherwise, it is the crime of forcible evacuation and can be considered as a crime against humanity.

It is worth to mention that the UN’s annual report referred to the policy of forced evacuation of villages in East Kurdistan by the Iranian regime, as the country was required to provide the necessary steps to return the villagers to their villages.
