Two photographs have been shared on social media of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan with BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş and BDP member of parliament Pervin Buldan.
The latest picture of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) leader is the first one published since he was jailed 14 years ago. The photographs were reportedly taken during a visit by the two BDP MPs to the island prison of Imrali last August.
Öcalan is seen sitting around a table and discussing notes with the BDP executives.
In a statement about the photograph, Buldan said the photo is real, taken at their workplace at the island, but wasn’t taken nor spread by their part.
