On November 8 following the execution of three Kurdish political prisoners Hebibulla Gulperipur, Reza Ismaili and Sherko Mearefi a protest was held in Hewler (Erbil) by numbers of political and civil organizations also independent circles.
8 civil and political activists were arrested by Hewler Security Forces (Asayesh) on the charge of stone-throwing to Iranian Embassy in Hewler. They have been held incommunicado ever since with their situations declared as “critical”.
We condemn the arrest of the political and civil activists of Rojhelat, asking the Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) to consider the political rights of the prisoners and release them as soon as possible.
The existence of political prisoners in KRG will misrepresent Kurdish democracy undermining KRG efforts at peace and freedom.
As Opinion Kurdistan Net, we will increase our struggles to inform the Swedish public opinion of the unrest.
