IRAN, HRANA – 6 prisoners of conscientious are on day 25 of their hunger strike while at least 1800 other prisoners of unit two in Ghezelhesar prison, are on their third day of hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), since Monday November 25, and after transferring 11 prisoners of unit two for carrying out execution, at least 1800 prisoners of this unit went on hunger strike.
This hunger strike continued today, and prisoners refused to eat, in response to their unfair sentences.
It caused in a very strict security atmosphere, presence of riot police in prison and mounting machineguns in watchtowers.
Meanwhile in service ward of this prison six Sunni prisoners of conscientious who are sentenced to death are on their 25th days of hunger strike.
Hameh Ahmadi, Kamal Moulayi, Jamshid Dehghani, Jahangir Dehghani, Seddigh Mohammadi and Syed Hadi Hosseini, who are in hunger strike since 25 days ago, in response to their death sentences and some other corporate demands, are in a concerning health condition.
An informed source told HRANA’s reporter: “Seyed Hadi Hosseini who is suffering from Epilepsy, had two Epileptic seizures during recent days and his friends could not help him due to severe weakness. Normal prisoners are banned from having any contact with these Sunni prisoners and when in an earlier event, one prisoner tried to help them, he got beaten fiercely. So nobody helps them.”
He continued, “Among these prisoners, Hamed Ahmadi and Jamshid Dehghani have worse condition and have collapsed several times due to blood pressure drop.”
He added, “Families of these six prisoners have sent appeal letters to the office of Seyed Ali Khamenehei, Hasan Rouhani, head of judiciary and general attorney, and requested for cancellation of sentence and fair re-trial. Yet, after about a month there is no single response.”
Finally, about the general condition of Ghezelhesar prison, this source stated, “It is about days that some of the units does not have warm water and prisoners cannot use bathrooms.”
