Security Council of the Kurdistan Province (SCKP) agreed to send troops to cope with the recent uprising in Kurdistan areas during an extraordinary meeting in 5 Nov 2013.

In Nov. 5, 2013 Meriwan people staged a protest rally in response to executing three Kurdish prisoners, Hebibulla Gulperipur, Reza Mamedi (Members of Free Life Party of Kurdistan- PJAK) and Sherko Mearefi (a political activist) ordered by Iran’s Judiciary.

The Regime does not tolerate any protests suppressed by security forces; as a result, they were arrested with some of them being student and civil activists. Wurya Tase and Dana Lencawi are the only activists known at the time, others are unknown.

The wave of unrest was stretched to other cities such as Sine, Seqiz, Bokan, Mehabad, Serdesht and Bane in East Kurdistan (Rojhelat) in support of the prisoners on death row.

In the essential summit of SCKP has agreed to send Special Forces to the Kurdish zones ordered by “Abdul-Reza Rahmani Fazeli” Minister of the Interior also was called situation in Meriwan and Sine “red and emergency”.

A reliable source who declined to be named told Kurdistan Press Agency that Revolutionary Guards from the provinces of Lorestan, Yazd and Isfahan are authorized to enter Kurdistan.

In recent days Ali Younesi the former Intelligence Minister also Special Assistant to the President in ethnic and religious minorities’ affairs had expressed regret about the recent executions and arrests in the Eastern region of Kurdistan. He remarked that all government officials are dissatisfied because of these events. Younesi promised to pursue the matter in the most efficient and best way possible.

Iranian regime has always labelled the Kurds as “separatist” suffocating any dissenting voices in the country. In recent years it has been denying the Kurdish people of their cultural rights and political participation.

Now people are preparing themselves for organizing mass protests in East Kurdistan (Rojhelat).
