Thousands people protest against Turkey's wall of shame

ANF, NISÊBÎN – Thousands of people met Thursday, 7th of November, in Nisêbîn to protest the wall of shame being built by the Turkish government on the Nisêbîn-Qamishlo border.

For nine days the mayor of Nisêbîn, Ayşe Gökkan, has been on a hunger strike. She has announced she will stop her protest today.

At today’s rally many BDP, DTK and HDP deputies and executives have been seen. Among them BDP co-chairs Gültan Kışanak and Selahattin Demirtaş, DTK co-chairs Aysel Tuğluk and Ahmet Türk. Police have tried to slow down the convoys coming from all over Kurdistan.

On the Qamishlo side people joined the protest against the wall, chanting slogans and repeating Kurds won’t accept the walls, nor fictitious borders.
