Attacks on Kurdish Kolbers (people who carry goods across the border on their back) and tradesmen are continuing by Iranian security forces in Eastern Kurdistan. According to the local sources, at least 4 Kurdish Kolbers and tradesmen killed and wounded around the city of Mako on 20 July.
According to this report, a number of Kolbers and tradesmen were ambushed by Iranian security forces in border region of Sari Chemen in the province of Uroumiye.
In this attack, Eli Azin, was killed and Mehmud and Hesen Pur Mehmud and Pasha Pur Mehmud were severely injured and transferred to a hospital. The number of injured was reportedly to be higher but they avoided to go to the hospital in fear of arrest by security forces.
Also, in this attack more than 120 horses of Kolbers were killed by Iranian security forces.
On the other hand, Iranian security forces attacked a group of Kolbers. Three people were severely injured around the city of Bane in Eastern Kurdistan.
According to the local sources, last week Tradesmen and Kolbers in a border area around the city of Bane protested against the inhumane and degrading behavior of Iranian security forces, but security forces attacked protesters. Huseien Muarefi and Salar Gulbadi were severely injured by security forces.
Security forces also seized 200 million Tuman money belonged to the Kolbers and tradesmen.
Also, in another development a group of Kolbers came under attack in the village of Dole Germ and Qule Swere, one Kolber named Hersh, a resident of Dolebi was injured and 8 Horses of these Kolbers were seized by Iranian Security forces.
Meanwhile, Iranian forces fire at a civilian from the city of Yasuj for unknown reasons around the city of Uromiye. He died at the result of his injuries.
On the other hand, General Ahmed gerawend, the vice commander of border guard of Iranian forces announced that in the borders of Iran the prohibited areas were specified and added: we ordered our forces to arrest or shoot everyone attempted to pass the border in those areas.
Despite numerous condemnations by regional and International human rights organizations Iranian security forces still continue the killings of innocent Kurds in border areas of Eastern Kurdistan.
Ahmed Shaheed, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran in his report in March 2012, for the first time expressed his concern about the systematic killing of Kolbars (back carriers) and condemned these extrajudicial killings.
