ANF, LONDON — Habibullah Gulperipur who was sentenced to death on charges of being a member of PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan), was transferred from Semnan to Urmiye Prison in Iran last week.
According to the report by the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, Gulperipur’s lawyer, Mesud Şemsinejad, has been arrested this week after his client’s transfer from Semnan prison where he had been held for 15 months.
The reason for the lawyer’s arrest has not been disclosed yet. He is reportedly being held in Urmiye prison now.
In 2011, Huseyn Xizri had been executed after his transfer from Urmiye prison. Gulperipur’s family is concerned that their son could also share the same fate with Xizri.
