In the third anniversary of the martyrs of 9 Gulan (9 May), the Kurds in Europe and Australia paid respect to their souls while remembering them for their struggles.

The ceremony was held on 9th May in Stockholm, Oslo and Melbourne (Australia) and on 11th May in Brussels, Helsinki and Manchester.

 

Stockholm, Sweden – 09.05.2013

The ceremony was held in the “Mynttorget” square in front of the Swedish Parliament headquarter. The ceremony started with a moment of silence for the martyrs. It was followed by performance of Kurdish National Anthem (Ey Reqib). Then a speech was given by the committee of PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan) in Kurdish and Swedish languages, followed by Farzad Kamangar’s Mother (Daye Seltene) letter and the voice of Ferhad Wekili’s youngest son.

“Ey Şehîdan” song was sung by PJAK Youth members and “Şîrîna min” (My Shirin) poem was read by Kamran Simo Hedili.

The ceremony continued with patriotic songs and poem performed by singers Feriborz Fexri, Kale Ateshin and Taha Hewrami.

Oslo, Norway – 09.05.2013

The ceremony started with a moment of silence for the martyrs. It was followed by a performance of the Kurdish National Anthem (Ey Reqib) then a speech was given on behalf of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK).

People council of Norway
East Kurdistan Women’s Union (YJRK)
Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK)
The Change Movement (Gorran)

The ceremony ended with a letter that was written by Farzad Kamangar before his execution and Kurdish National Anthem song was performed by Kurdish youth.

 

Melbourne, Australia – 09.05.2013

In a similar fashion with those held in Europe, the ceremony started with a moment of silence for the martyrs. Then a speech was given by the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) committee and Movement of Al-Ahwaz.

 

Helsinki, Finland – 11.05.2013

The ceremony started with a moment of silence for the death of martyrs. The YJRK statement was red in the Finnish language and PJAK statement in Kurdish. A speech was also given by the representative of Change Movement (Gorran). A poem by Cefer Kerimi and the Kurdish National Anthem (Ey Reqib) and “I am a Guerilla” song was sung by the Kurdish singer Nahide and Rizgar Hewrami.

 

Manchester, England – 11.05.2013

The ceremony held in Piccadilly Gardens of Manchester commenced with a moment of silence for the martyrs and then continued with slogans such as “Martyrs are not dead”, “Long live Kurds and Kurdistan” and “Freedom for Ocalan”.

Then a speech was given by the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) committee. A speech was also made by the representative of Change Movement (Gorran) and East Kurdistan Journalists Campaign.

Then “Ey Şehîdan” song was sung by young singer Dana, and ceremony ended by reading some poems.

Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), Kurdistan Democratic Solution Party (PÇDK), The Change Movement (Gorran) and East Kurdistan Journalists Campaign had attended the ceremony in Manchester.

 

Brussels, Belgium – 11.05.2013

The ceremony was opened with a moment of silence for the martyrs. Then a speech was given about importance of the 9 May anniversary.

Speeches were given by:
Haci Ehmedi, President of Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK)
Tahir Kemalizade, President of Kurdistan National Congress (KNK)
Faik Yagizay, Europe representative for the Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP)
Shervan Hesen, Democratic Union Party (PYD) representative
Awat Sadiq, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) representative
Hewra, Movement of Al-Ahwaz and Arab Nation

Also Sorour Kamangar read the message of Farzad Kamangar’s Foundation and Martyrs Family letter. Then Emced Huseyn Penahi read message of three organizations of Kurdistan Human Rights Association in Europe (KMMK), the Committee for Defense of Political Prisoners and Kurdocide Watch – CHAK.

The ceremony continued with patriotic songs and ended with “îro çerxa şoreşê” song.
