Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez remembered

Sakine, Fidan, Leyla remembered

ANF, PARIS — Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez were brutally murdered in Paris four months ago today. Rallies and demonstrations are being staged all over Europe to mark the anniversary of the killings and ask truth and justice. Stalemate continues on the investigation on the killings, with the French authorities remaining silent.

Nothing is due to know about the situation of the one and only suspect in custody, Omer Guney. Reports earlier this months said the man was hospitalized. As for his whereabouts while in Turkey, nothing has been said by the authorities which seem to have chosen the way of silence and let time passing.

But Kurds are on their neck, and today’s rallies show this. European institutions which promptly enough condemned the killings should rise their voice once again asking for light to be shed on these killings.

Sakine Cansız was a co-founder of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Fidan Doğan was the representative of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) in Paris, and Leyla Şaylemez was member of the Kurdish youth movement
