PKK message for Öcalan’s birthday

ANF, Behdinan — Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) Executive Committee has released a written statement on 4 April, Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday, “the day – said the statement – of the revival of the hopes and beginning of a free life for the Kurdish people”.

The PKK pointed out that it is of “great importance for the militants of the Kurdish freedom struggle, the Kurdish people and their friends to welcome the 64th birthday of Öcalan who was the architecture and leader of the current historic process of a new struggle perspective he announced in Newroz on 21 March”.

The PKK remarked that Kurds have achieved to reach this historic process through the multidimensional public struggle they have given so far.

“Our people – said the statement – regard 4 April as the day of birth and liberation and they welcome it with mass and significant activities, said PKK and noted that they hoped the birthday of the Kurdish leader would lead to peace and brotherhood among all peoples in the Kurdish region and the Middle East”.

The PKK ended its statement by calling on all Kurdish people to continue their mobilization to make 2013 the year of liberation of Kurds and their leader.
