One of the wounded students died, sparking protest in Mehabad

MEHABAD, — One of the wounded girls whose body was burnt during the combustion in Shinawa school died, local sources said, leading to protest in Mehabad city.

According to NNS-Roj news outlet, numbers of Kurdish students and civil activists gathered today outside Mehabad Education Ministry, amid a mood of outrage, to protest against the officials’ ignorance which led to conflagration in the class room burning 36 female students in Shinawe village.

The protesters held banners and placards while chanting slogans demanding the resignation of the Iranian Education Minister Hamid Raza Haj Babei.

The same source reported that the Education Minister made apology today in the Parliament for what had happened in Shinawe village.

“Against this catastrophe, a legal case would be opened in the Iranian judicial system,” said Resul Xezri deputy of Serdesht and Xane (Piranshar) cities adding that the lives of 15 injured students are at critical condition.
