Erdogan: Kurdish hunger strikers need psychological trainings

ANKARA, Turkey, — In his party’s weekly meeting the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan reflected on the hunger strike in a contemptuous way. “Let’s the BDP deputies also join the hunger strike,” he said while ridiculing the hunger strikers.

The hunger strike staged by the PKK and PAJK prisoners has entered its 64th day today. Instead of meeting the demands of the hunger strikers Erdogan scorned them in a way that in ordinary Turkish language it connotes “go to hell”.

In his party’s weekly meeting Erdogan described the hunger strike as sustained for deceptive goals while he targeted the media for their coverage of the fast.

“We see that joint campaigns are directed under hidden purposes”, said Erdogan and continued, “In some prisons hunger strike has been staged. Some of the media outlets have backed this campaign serving as their paws. From when have you been in love with terrorist organisation?  The strong sentiments you have for terrorists, why don’t you have for your brothers (Turkish special team of 17 soldiers who were killed in helicopter crash)?”

Threatening with the power of Turkish state Erdogan shouted; “Turkey is not what it used to be. These are rotten scenarios. We do whatever needed to dismantle these stratagems.”

In his speech Erdogan did not say whatsoever about meeting the demands of the hunger strikers. Instead, he threw his scornful words at pro-Kurdish BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) deputies saying; “Let’s the BDP deputies also join the hunger strike and continue it. But they should not order kebab sporadically.”

Erdogan went further in his contemptuous statements and behaviours by saying; “They [the hunger strikers] are in need of psychological treatments. They need psychiatrists.”
