QENDIL, — A rally was organised by the Movement of Free Citizen in the village of Bukriskani in Qendil Slope demanding the immediate release of Kurdish political prisoners in Turkey.
Over 700 PKK and PAJK prisoners held in Turkey’s prisons launched an indefinite hunger strike on 12 September. The hunger strike has entered 55th day today and it was reported that it will be joined by 10,000 more prisoners today.
In solidarity with the fast a rally was organised in Bukriskani village in Qendil Slope demanding the freedom of all Kurdish political prisoners held in Turkey.
A declaration was read in the rally casting attention on the strict isolation imposed on the Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan and the resistance led by the Kurdish prisoners in Turkey’s prisons.
“We as the residents of Qendil Slopes,” outlined the declaration; “support the hunger strikers to the end regarding it as a humane and moral mission.”
The protesters chanted slogans in support of the hunger strikers and called upon Turkey yielding to their demands and release them immediately.
