TEHRNA, — The Iranian ambassador to Turkey denounced the allegation made by Francis Ricciardone the American ambassador to Turkey, saying Iran is sending military ammunition to Syria.
“The anti-Iranian propaganda of Ricciardone alleging that Iran is sending ammunitions to Syria via Turkey from where a portion of it is given to the PKK is a baseless accusation,” said Bahman Husenpour the Iranian ambassador in Turkey.
Francis Ricciardone alleged in a press conference held yesterday in Istanbul that the Syrian ammunitions are provided by Iran and Damascus sends a segment of it to the PKK.
Such American propaganda is serving a political purpose, said Husenpour adding, the US wants to strain Iran and Turkey’s relationship.
