Şemzinan: Military outposts taken over

erdogan__armyNEWSDESK, — Following a sustained clashes going on for the last ten days the Kurdish guerrillas of HPG (People’s Defense Forces) in Şemzinan are taking controls of more military outposts previously occupied by Turkish army.

Goman, Gostê and Karker hills and Gediktepe are among the main military outposts that have been taken over and controlled by the HPG guerrillas.

Gediktepe military compound is where the Turkish army had suffered a great loss as a result of a guerrilla action in June of 2010.

According to ANF the Turkish army has been trapped in the posts, unable to take action on the ground or to make military shipment to the operation area as the Kurdish guerrillas have taken control of all the motorways.

Although the Turkish army has been backed by aerial attacks but such offensives have remained ineffective because of the air defense by the guerrilla units.

Uninterrupted aerial and ground attacks of the Turkish army have also inflicted heavy damage on the local community as many villages near the clashes area have been evacuated and vineyards and orchards have been destroyed since the beginning of the intense bombardment of the army.
