President of European Union call for Kurdish autonomy in Turkey

NEWSDESK, — To solve the Kurds issues in Turkey the President of European Union suggests a large regional autonomy in North Kurdistan.

Martin Schulz the president of European Union during his visit to Turkey emphasised the necessity for solution of the Kurdish issues in this country.

Schulz expressed his concern the way Turkey deals with the Kurdish issues and continues violating their rights. He outlined that solving the Kurdish issues is the most important subject for Turkey to become a member of European Union.

The President of European Union pointed to South Kurdistan example in northern Iraq and suggested establishing autonomous region for Kurds in Turkey with sufficient power to protect their rights as necessary.

Martin Schulz criticised Turkish high court which sentenced Kurdish Member of Parliament Leyla Zana for ten years and said European Union Parliament will monitor Zana’s case critically.

He added a new and modern constitution which complies with European Union criteria is another condition Turkey needs to become a member.
