Turkey won’t allow independent Kurdistan, says official

NEWSDESK, — Talks of independent Kurdistan have gained a wide currency in South Kurdistan from last year but Turkey’s high officials are bent on preventing any effort aimed at establishing an  independent Kurdistan, fearing it will encourage other parts of Kurdistan to follow suit.

A Turkish high political figure has told Sehend Newspaper that Turkey will not allow an independent Kurdish state to be established in South Kurdistan, reported Sbeiy, adding that would encourages Kurds in Turkey and other parts of Kurdistan to follow suit.

This official whose name was not published sees the establishment of independent Kurdistan as a threat to his own country’s territorial integrity, believing it will unleash crises in the Middle East.
