KERKUK, South Kurdistan, — Deputy of Kurdistan President Emad Ehmed announced on yesterday that his visit to Kerkuk has nothing to do with Maliki’s previous visit.
Ehmad had series of meetings with top political figures in the city. In a press conference he announced that the city of Kerkuk and other regions are un-detachable parts of Kurdistan.
In regard to Maliki’s speech on Tuesday 8 May Imad said “our identity is Kurdistan and the city of Kerkuk is true history of that, article 140 will identify Kerkuk identity”.
He indicated that it is our responsibility to serve the city. He visited Kerkuk with 9 Ministers as response to Prime Minister’s visit on Tuesday.
Miliki’s controversial speech and the series of meetings had negative impact in the media as he said the identity of Kerkuk is Iraqi’s.
