QENDIL, Defence Zones of Medya, — The Council of East Kurdistan Defence Forces (HRK) released a statement in relation to the recent clash in Hewraman remarking; “our guerrillas availed of the legitimate right of self-preservation and within the operations six Revolution Guards were killed and a number of others injured.”
A clash broke out between HRK guerrillas and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on 24 April in Nodshe area. The Council of HRK released a statement in relation to the clash today.
In the statement HRK observed; “The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) initiated intensive military operations in Nodshe of Hewraman zones on 24 April which led to skirmish between their troops and our guerrillas. As the result of the combat six Revolution Guards were killed and a number of others injured.”
HRK also announced; “The operations were ended on the following day; it is worth mention that no harm was inflicted upon our guerrillas”.
The Council of East Kurdistan Defence Forces stressed that their guerrilla forces have the right and the power to encounter any form of offensives directed at them. “In the case of any attack, in any situation, by availing of the legitimate right of self-defence, we will defend ourselves in any situation,” the statement concluded.
