Eli Muradi still on hunger strike

EAST KURDISTAN, — Eli Muradi a Kurdish political prisoner, sentenced to long imprisonments, is still on hunger strike reaching its 9th day.

He launched the hunger strike on 5th April in the hospital of Benderabas city, where is currently held, against the prison’s outrageous situation and the maltreatment he is facing.

It is being reported that Mr Muradi is suffering from heart problem for several months. He was transferred from Minab prison, where he was held, on 4th April to the hospital of Benderabas city for medical treatment.

The Iranian authorities forced doctors not to do operation for the prisoners although the doctors of the hospital have reported that Mr Muradi needs an urgent operation.

Mr Muradi was arrested by the Iranian Intelligent Service on the charge of working with one of the Kurdish political parties and “threatening national security” and was sentenced to 30 years imprisonments.
