NEWSDESK, — Land mines implanted during the Iran-Iraq war is causing damage and destruction to the lives of Kurdish people and their land, a civilian was killed in a land mine explosion, local sources reported.
A bunch of land mines exploded in Bemo Mountain located in between the east and south of Kurdistan and a young Kurdish boy named as Luqman lost his life.
Mr Luqman was very young aging 17 years old. He wanted to cross the artificial borders from East to the South of Kurdistan with his brother to visit their families.
Each year many civilian Kurds especially whose living on the artificial borders are killed or lose some parts of their bodies in mine explosion. No attempts have been made to clear the areas of the mines.
